HIAK was commissioned to inspect and repair an old exhaust gas system that we had originally supplied in 1974. The ducts in the exhaust gas system had become clogged on account of age, wear and tear – and because the system had not been used for a long time. As a consequence of the clogged ducts, the temperature in the gas turbine was too high.

Our inspector travelled to Oman and compiled a report proposing a variety of measures. We also tendered a price for carrying out the work. The customer approved our proposal, and we sent two fitters to Oman with a material kit prepared especially for the purpose. The exhaust system was successfully repaired, allowing it to run for a further 10 years.
